The body is the AR16 platform, so for mounting dimensions and parts please see the AR SERIES VARIABLE PISTON PUMPS page.
The ASR16 is a dual-flow servo piston pump developed from our AR16 variable piston pump. It has a two-stage flow output: the upper stage covers high-flow motion, while the lower stage is an adjustable low-flow module dedicated to pressure stability and energy saving at low speed.
Used with a servo motor and a PID controller, it holds system pressure during pressure-holding and standby stages at the lowest possible speed and flow, instead of forcing pressure with excess flow - which wastes power and heats the oil.
| Conventional design | ASR16 solution |
|---|---|
| Pressure unstable at low speed | Lower low-flow module gives precise control |
| Excess power consumption | Runs at low speed and low flow |
| Fixed flow cannot match leakage differences | Adjustable nut sets displacement per machine |

Cross section: high-flow section above, adjustable low-flow nut below (shown in low-speed pressure-holding state)
- Displacement adjustable from 1 to 10 cc/rev
- Set according to the machine's actual internal leakage
- Suits pressure holding, standby and other energy-saving duties
- Works in series with a PID system or controller
Target pressure is set and pressure is monitored continuously
Target rpm is computed from the error
Responds quickly to pressure change and keeps pressure stable
Low flow is set by hand, speed follows automatically, pressure stays stable
Switches between high and low flow according to the duty
Stable pressure at the lowest energy across different duties
Internal leakage differs from machine to machine, so the low-flow output is set to the actual flow loss:
| Internal leakage | Low-flow setting | Speed |
|---|---|---|
| 500 cc/min | 3.3 cc/rev | 150 rpm |
| 300 cc/min | 2.0 cc/rev | 150 rpm |
The low-flow module compensates the leakage precisely and holds the set pressure, giving stable pressure at the lowest energy consumption.
- Hydraulic moulding machines - energy compensation during the holding stage
- Precision clamping fixtures - long pressure holding without heating the oil
- Automated storage equipment - reduced speed with pressure held between cycles
| Item | Conventional pump | ASR16 |
|---|---|---|
| Flow adjustment | Almost none | Set precisely to leakage |
| Energy saving | Moderate | High - efficient output at low speed |
| Pressure stability | Relies on excess flow | Precise compensation |
| Customisation | Fixed parameters | Displacement built to order |
The ASR16 is the first servo-driven dual-flow piston pump with an adjustable low-flow nut structure, a new answer for hydraulic energy saving and precision automation.
